Bradley.Basso LLP London and Venice, UK and Italy: Custom Stained Glass Design, Architectural Stained Glass Art
Bradley.Basso London/Venice specialize in the design, production and installation of custom stained glass design and architectural stained glass art.
The partnership, works from London and Venice, in conjunction with specialist professionals from the UK and Italy. ‘Our particular use of stained glass and its allied techniques is almost exclusively in relation to situation, as a medium and art form with an interdependent relationship with architecture and the built environment. Creative input in response to space.’
Ray Bradley (UK) and Denise MT Basso (Italy) formed their partnership having established a close working relationship and recognized common interests in potential new applications for architectural glass art and design. The union combines long international experience of custom stained glass design supporting the dynamic of a new creative glass art capability.
Although over proceeding years, stained glass has become a generic term for various contemporary glass installations in architecture. No longer just custom designed stained glass, but transparent, translucent and reflective glass surfaces that can introduce colour and modulate the transmission of light in the built environment, Ray Bradley, as the primary partner working with this medium, has completed many commissions, for public, private, religious and secular buildings in this country and overseas.
Bradley.Basso use their skills in the creation, production and installation of commissioned works of architectural stained glass art, using various techniques involved with glass painting and staining, acid etching, sandblasting, and enamelling to communicate Ideas, but also to interrelate and provide focus or connect areas within a building space, modulate the quality of light and hopefully add to the perception of ‘Place’.
‘We explore and emphasize the intimate relationships of light, form and space, to orchestrate the boundaries between the interior and exterior, between contemporary glass expression and traditional stained glass; glass art and glass design; architectural glass art and architecture.’
